\nThe number of visually impaired people in the UK is expected to rise to 4 million by 2020, while by 2035 it is estimated that there will be 15.6 million of people with hearing loss in the UK. Such statistics reflect the urgency in which film, television and interactive media industries need to reflect on the diversity of their audiences as well as measures to increase both accessibility as well as foster inclusivity.<\/p>\n
This event seeks to promote communication between researchers, stakeholders in the creative industries, accessibility services, and audiences. It will provide an interdisciplinary forum, integrating approaches from the arts, humanities, engineering and social sciences that study both traditional and innovative approaches to accessibility. We particularly welcome submissions in the field of sound design, audio engineering and music technology. The panels on these themes will be organised under the umbrella of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) North of England section.<\/p>\n
We are interested in paper presentations, posters, demos, installations and workshop proposals. Please mark clearly on your proposal whether your contribution will be a paper, poster, demo, installation or workshop.<\/p>\n

\n\u00b7 Accessible filmmaking and collaborative approaches
\n\u00b7 Integrating accessibility into the creative sector<\/p>\n
Please submit an abstract of no more than 300 words through our submission portal. Papers will be made available as open access through the conference website.<\/p>\n
