The conference series will be held every two years, with a difference central theme for every conference, and welcomes researchers from across the world to participate. The inaugural conference, held on 17\u201319 December 2015, was a great success with about 150 participants from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Korea, the UK, Belgium, Spain, Italy, the US, Canada, and New Zealand.<br \/>\nThe second conference, \u201cPatronage as a shaping force in Chinese Translation History,\u201d now invites submission of panel abstracts as well as abstracts for individual papers on patronage in the definition of Andr\u00e9 Lefevere: \u201cthe powers (persons, institutions) that can further or hinder the reading, writing, and rewriting of literature.\u201d (Translation, Rewriting, and the Manipulation of Literary Fame) Case studies on how individuals or institutions as patrons shaped significant phenomena in Chinese translation history are welcome.
