One of such trades is translation and interpreting: screens have given rise to new ways of working which are supposed to provide professionals with a higher level of flexibility, collaboration, and efficacy for translation and interpreting projects.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">From the<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/paratraduccion.com\/doctorado\/grupo-de-investigacion-tp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Translation <\/a><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/paratraduccion.com\/doctorado\/grupo-de-investigacion-tp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #808080;\">&amp;<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;\">Para<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">translation <span style=\"color: #333333;\">(T<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #808080;\">&amp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;\">P<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">)<\/span> <span style=\"color: #333333;\">Research Group at the <I>Universidade de Vigo<\/i>, we organize this<\/span> <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Para<\/span>tradit-2024_UVigo_<\/strong><\/span><b>T<\/b><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><b>&amp;<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>P<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\"> Congress to seek reflection proposals and practical insights on how to effectively leverage the digital (r)evolution both in university teaching and the professional activities of translation and interpreting. The focus of the Congress revolves around three primary objectives:<\/span><\/span><\/p><ul style=\"text-align: justify;\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt; color: #333333;\">Explore the potential benefits that linguistic technologies and AI offer in the professional exercise of translation and interpreting.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Considering the limitations of new technologies in Public Service Interpreting and Translation<\/span> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.joseyustefrias.com\/2013\/01\/03\/aux-seuils-de-la-traduction-et-de-linterpretation-en-milieu-social\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PSIT<\/a>). <span style=\"color: #333333;\">Assess how the Health, Education, and Public Service Justice sectors, where the human touch is crucial, interact with screens in the work of PSIT professionals and its impact on public service providers and allophone migrant individuals.<\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt; color: #333333;\">To warn of the real risks the overuse of screens entail for the training of future translators and interpreters.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt; color: #333333;\">Ultimately the aim of this track is to describe the conceptual shift of what it means to translate and interpret in the 21st Century. You can find below a brief list of possible themes we would like to discuss in this track of the Congress, but <strong>please note that<\/strong>: the following list is merely indicative. We are open to other original proposal related to any area of <em>Translation and Interpreting in the Digital
