CFP – Translation and Interpreting in Political Settings
Translation and interpreting are essential, if often invisible, components of international politics. Yet, despite the ubiquity of multilingual political communication and their global cultural, social and political impact, scholars from Translation Studies had been slow to address the translation and interpreting of political texts. However, after a period of benign neglect, the discipline of Translation Studies has finally made the political dimensions of its discipline a serious object of study.
This one-day event will bring together practitioners and scholars and will provide an opportunity to explore and discuss the role of translation and interpreting in political settings through the views of different stakeholders in the field.
