Pedro González Santamaría has a degree in Business Sciences, a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management, a bachelor’s degree in Market Research and Techniques and a PhD “with excellence Cum Laude” in Business Management and Organization by the Universidade de Vigo. He teaches in the degrees of Industrial Engineer and Business Administration, as well as in the master’s degree in SME Management at the UVigo and in the master’s degree in communication and strategic Marketing at the Escuela Jacobea de Pogrado, in Mexico.

He has published several works related to management in the tourism and ICT sectors. He has given lectures in several European and Latin American countries. He has more than 20 years of experience in business, undertaking several responsibilities related to management and administration in different sectors (commercial, event planning, tourism, training).

Since 2001 he has coordinated several European projects, collaborating with different institutions in countries such as Italy, Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Lithuania, Austria or Turkey. He has diverse training in managing and attracting European projects and he has participated in the “TecEuropa” program of specialized training in EU funding in Brussels.

Since 2015 he is a part of the panel of experts of the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education, under the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, where he perform tasks related to the evaluation and control of European projects.

EXPERIENCE AS TEACHER

He has taught several specialization courses in the field of information technologies and communication. He has also been a teacher of Vocational Training in public and private institutions in the fields of computing, business administration, career training and guidance and commercial organization. He has also taught secondary education classes in the field of economics in public schools of the Department of Education and Universities of the Xunta de Galicia. For more than 10 years he taught Tourism information and marketing system in the degree in business and turist activities at the UNED. Since 2008 he is a teacher at the Department of business organization and marketing of the Universidade de Vigo, where he teaches several courses in the bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees related to business management and administration, information systems and project management. He has also collaborated as a marketing teacher in several international institutions.

LINES OF RESEARCH

His lines of research include consumer behavior, tourism marketing and the study of the videogame industry.
