Anxo was born in Paris in 1968. He has a bachelor’s degree in Romance Philology and a PhD in Translation and Interpreting. He has been a teacher at the School of Philology and Translation of the Universidade de Vigo since 1992. He was awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Award and the Vicente Risco Prize for Social Sciences.
Director of ICOTI, a private research collection regarding contemporary iconography of translation in the industrial era prior to the age of information. The collection is nourished by analog media (illustrated and press, print, correspondence, publicity, photography, etc.) in which the image and activity of the person that translates or interprets is instrumentalized.
He has experience in translation in the field of tourism and museum, in the treatment of heritage and in the scenography of exhibitions.
He teaches translation at the Universidade de Vigo since 1992, mainly in the linguistic combination French-Galician and regarding the tourism sector.
He also has a long experience in teaching history and anthropography applied to translation.
