Salvador Mourelo was born in A Coruña in 1971.
Licenciado en Ciencias Biolóxicas, na especialidade de Bioloxía Fundamental, pola Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, no ano 1994. Tese de Licenciatura: «Polimorfismo de ADN de sequências curtas repetidas em tandem no cromossoma 8q (Região I): Análise do desequilíbrio de ligação».
He also has a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting, in the Galician-English-Portuguese language pair, by the Universidade de Vigo, since 2005.
He is a sworn English-Galician-English interpreter, certified by the Xunta de Galicia and a sworn Portuguese-Spanish-Portuguese interpreter, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
He was linked to the anthropology section of the Department of Animal Biology of the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela during the academic years 1994-1995, 1995-1996 and 1996-1997.
During the periods 1998-1999 and 2006-2018 he has collaborated with several translation companies undertaking translation and interpreting services.
He is a Portuguese senior lecturer at the Official Language School of Vigo, from the academic year 2003-2004 onwards.
As per his university teaching experience, he is a visiting professor in the master’s degree in Translation for International Communication, at the Universidade de Vigo.
