LECTURER

Emmanuel Claude BOURGOIN VERGONDY, member of the research group Translation & Paratranslation since 2014, is a lecturer in the department of Classical French and Italian Philology of the Faculty of Philology at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela.
PhD in Translation and Paratranslation in 2019 at the Universidade de Vigo, with outstanding mention. He has also obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in Humanities corresponding to the academic year 2018/2019. He has also successfully completed the master’s degree in Translation for International Communication (MTCI) in 2014, the first cohort of this program. Previously, he obtained the bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting, in 2013.
Emmanuel Bourgoin served as French reader at the E.O.I. of Vigo during the academic year 1996/1997 after completing a Licence Langue Étrangère: spécialité espagnol at the Université d’Angers in France (1996). For more than 25 years he has worked as a professor of French as a foreign language in the Alliance Française in Vigo, cultural association that has been awarded the Príncipe de Asturias Award in 2005, which he directed from 2007 to 2010.
Associate lecturer in the department of English, French and German Philology of the Faculty of Philology and Translation at the UVigo from 2018 to 2023. He is currently a lecturer in the department of Classic Philology at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. He teaches several subjects in the degree in Classical French Philology, as well as in the Master’s Degree in Translation for International Communication – which has been awarded the mention of excellence by the government of the Xunta de Galicia. He is the co-director of the Specialist Degree in Translation for the Video Game Industry (ETIV).
His lines of research include Translation and Interpreting in the Social Environment and the teaching of foreign languages and, in particular, French as a foreign language.
