Francisco Torres Pérez has a bachelor’s degree in law by the Universidade de Vigo. He specialised in Business Law at the same university (1998) and in International Maritime Law at ICADE-IME (2008). He currently is a senior lecturer in Maritime Law at the Universidade de Vigo. From October 2016 to October 2019, he coordinated the research strategy and was a member of the scientific committee of the European project DOCKSIDE. His main lines of research are the legal regime of cooperatives, Maritime Law, and Industrial Property. Regarding the latter, he has been involved nonstop in research projects since 2005 and has actively participated in the organization of congresses and seminars around this topic. Additionally, he was a member of the editorial board of the magazine Actas de Dereito Industrial from 2015 to 2019, as secretary, as well as of Cooperativismo e Economía Social.
As per his experience as a university lecturer, since 2019 he is a senior lecturer in the department of Private Law at the Universidade de Vigo. He teaches different courses both in the bachelor’s degrees of law, labour relations and human resources; as well as in the double degree in Business Administration-Law. He also teaches in several master’s degrees and doctoral programmes.
His lines of research include cooperative societies and maritime law.
